Brooklyn, NY

From the customer: My husband Alex’s love of Chapel Hill, North Carolina runs deep. Deeper only than his love for maps (partially because he always likes to think he knows where he is going). The concept of combining the two things in a piece of art was an obvious choice for a birthday gift. We now live in Cobble Hill Brooklyn, so I thought it would be cool to have a map of Chapel Hill next to Cobble Hill.  When I contacted Tony and Katie at City Prints Map Art, Tony had an even better idea! He suggested we also include a map of Charlottesville, Virginia (home to my alma mater) and that the map of Cobble Hill combine the colors from our respective “homes,” Tarheel Blue and the very regal UVa Navy. Tony made me feel as if I was part of the creative process, giving the entire project that much more meaning. The final work of art tells a story and is a constant reminder that “home is where the heart is.”  Alex was over the moon when he saw the final product and especially impressed because the artist is also his fraternity brother from his days in Chapel Hill. ~ Corinne L.

From the map maker: It was my honor to work on these prints for you Corinne!  Working on the project for Alex (maybe the best guy, IN THE WORLD!) was enough to make this a special project, but knowing these pieces would be a part of your home and bring your two stories together made it perfect. Stories like these make the long hours tracing well worth it. Enjoy the prints, and we hope to see you soon. ~ Tony
