National MS Society

City Prints is proud to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. We spoke to Becca from the Columbus, OH  office, who is planning an art event, An Orange and White Affair, to raise awareness for the cause and their upcoming Walk MS. Here’s Becca telling us a little bit more about the National MS Society:

“Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system – the brain and spinal cord. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS vary among individuals and are unpredictable. There is currently no known cause or cure for multiple sclerosis.

MS stops people from moving. We exist to make sure it doesn’t.The National MS Society provides programs and services to those living with MS and their families such as educational, social and wellness programs, respite care, counseling, transportation services, and financial assistance. We also fund numerous research projects throughout the country.

An Orange and White Affair is an event hosted annually in March by the Ohio Buckeye Chapter of the National MS Society. This event celebrates the kick off of MS Awareness Month in Ohio as well as the Walk MS event season. The event features food, cocktails, music, and an art show and silent auction. This year we are proud and excited to have City Prints Map Art participate.

It was great speaking to you Becca. Our family is one of the hundreds of thousands in the U.S. affected by MS, so it’s an important issue to us and we appreciate your hard work spreading awareness and raising funds to combate the desease. Best of luck with the event!
